Yankee Screwdrivers in Art and Literature
Once I got interested in Yankee screwdrivers, I starteed noticing
them in movies and on a book cover.
Some of my readers here have spotted other places, too.
- Yankee Screwdriver spotted in the movie "Big Fish"
- Cover of the Microsoft Press book, Microsoft Exchange Server 2003
Administrator's Companion".
I was somewhat offended by this, not being a fan of Microsoft's
..er.."fine" products (and certainly not this one!).
- Movie "Blues Brothers" - "Elwood uses one to break open the lift
(Yanks call `em an "elevator") control panel before setting it on fire."
(from Justin Lavery)
- Movie "Brazil" - "Tuttle (Robert DeNero), a non-authorised
central services repairman, uses one to open the duct control panel - to
swap the sewerage duct with the oxygen duct - with VERY unpleasant
results." (from Justin Lavery)
Tell me your Yankee Screwdriver Art and Literature spottings, and let me know
how to attribute them to you. (In general, you probably don't want me
to post your e-mail address unless you are already something of an
often-spammed Internet celebrity.)
Write me at (nick at holland-consulting.net).
